Lebanon Currency Guide for Visitors

The official currency in Lebanon is the Lebanese Pound (LBP), while US dollars are widely accepted.

There are no currency exchange offices inside Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport. Upon arrival, you may exchange money through the following options:

  • Hotel front desks, which usually offer currency exchange services (rates may vary).
  • Licensed money exchange offices located throughout Beirut and major cities, which generally provide more competitive rates.

Tips to avoid scams:

  • Always use official and licensed exchange offices.
  • Avoid exchanging money on the street or with unauthorized individuals.
  • Confirm the exchange rate before completing any transaction and count your money carefully.
