Meet Our Ambassador
Who is Masarra
I am Masarra Shalfon, a proud Lebanese citizen from Bqaakafra, the highest inhabited village in Lebanon and the Middle East. Bqaakafra is also the birthplace of Youssef Makhlouf, known to the world as Saint Charbel. He spent the first twenty-three years of his life in this village before beginning his monastic journey at the monastery in Mayfouk. These twenty-three formative years were marked by Youssef Makhlouf’s childhood, education, and upbringing amidst the steadfast homes and ancient streets of Bqaakafra, overlooking the majestic Jebbeh area, the Holy Valley, and the Patriarchate. Just as Saint Charbel watches over the entire world without distinction of race, religion, or ethnicity, offering his intercession to all, Bqaakafra stands as a beacon of peace and spiritual solace. Those who seek Saint Charbel find comfort in his presence, knowing he will answer their prayers. Likewise, Bqaakafra is a sanctuary for the soul, offering serenity and a profound sense of closeness to heaven.
